Bonsack Ltd were based in Dunstable, Bedfordshire and were a manufacturer of a large range of GRP, steel and timber garage doors. Bonsack garage doors were manufactured and marketed under a number of different brand names. Their range of steel garage doors was manufactured by Capital Garage Doors Ltd who were based in Upminster, Essex and were usually marketed under the brand name ‘Capital’. Their range of GRP garage doors were marketed under the ‘County Mouldings’ brand.

In 1999 Bonsack Ltd was taken over by the Cardale Group. Cardale proceeded to integrate Bonsack’s range of products into their own portfolio. The Bonsack range of GRP doors was incorporated into Cardale’s Wessex Garage Door brand and manufacturing was moved to the Wessex doors factory in Verwood, Dorset. The Bonsack steel range of garage doors was merged with Cardales recently acquired ‘Apex’ garage door range, with manufacturing based in Luton.

It can be difficult to identify original Bonsack doors as before Cardale purchased the company, branding was quite vague and sometimes non-existent.
Spares for Bonsack doors are still widely available including the Capital, County Mouldings, Apex and Wessex brands. The later Cardale products usually utilise the standard Cardale door gear with most spare parts easily available.
